“Nature has always been the most wonderful and simple source of happiness. For me, every passing moment is precious; once gone, it can never be reclaimed. Sometimes, we unintentionally waste these irreplaceable moments without even realizing it. These are the moments I’ve tried to capture in my drawings, preserving the beauty and essence of each fleeting second.”

Thi Tuyet Suong Nguyen, an accomplished artist based in Sai Gon, Vietnam, has made significant strides in both the educational and artistic fields. Initially, she pursued a career as an art teacher, earning two Fine Art degrees major in Oil Painting from Ho Chi Minh Fine Art University. In her 12 years of being an art teacher, she nurtured and inspired young talents. Her passion for painting, however, continued to grow, leading her to develop a distinctive style characterized by strong brushstrokes and a vibrant colour palette.

Nguyen’s work is deeply influenced by Impressionism, an art movement known for its emphasis on light and colour. Her paintings exude a sense of romance, emotion, and tranquillity, capturing the beauty and peace she perceives in the world. As a mother of two with a profound love for nature, Nguyen seeks to depict the serene and beautiful aspects of life, providing her audience with a respite from the world’s harsh realities.

A pivotal moment in her artistic journey occurred when she first set foot in Tasmania. The island’s romantic, vivid, and gentle landscapes resonated deeply with her soul, inspiring her to capture its beauty through her art. In 2023 alone, Nguyen created over 100 paintings of Tasmanian scenes, each piece vividly portraying the unique charm of its locations. Her ability to encapsulate the essence of these places allows viewers to recognize and appreciate the specific sights she paints.

Nguyen’s work is a testament to her belief that art can bring beauty and peace into people’s lives, offering a sanctuary from the sorrow and unpleasantness of the world.
